Cosmic Elements, a fusion of science and art, jointly presented by Nookland and the Chinese National Astronomy Magazine, opened at the China Resources Tower Arts Center Gallery in Nanshan District on Saturday.

This Friday evening, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra (SZSO) will perform Mahler’s masterpiece, his “Symphony No. 3,” conducted by the orchestra’s artistic director Lin Daye. Mezzo-soprano Zhu Huiling will be the featured vocalist, singing alongside the SZSO Chamber Choir and Guangzhou Little Petrel Children’s Choir.

This December, Shenzhen Concert Hall is presenting five shows with performances on the organ, cello, harp and the piano as well as on Chinese instruments.

Members of Shenzhen Concert Hall’s fan club “Music Lovers” are in for a treat today, as they can sit at Spanish pianist Mario Alonso’s recital for free.

The Chinese version of Owen O’Neill and Dave Johns’ stage adaptation of “The Shawshank Redemption,” featuring a cast of Chinese-speaking foreigners, will premiere at Pingshan Theater on Jan. 4, 2024.

Under the baton of Spanish conductor José María Moreno, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra (SZSO) will perform the works of Manuel de Falla, the most distinguished Spanish composer of the early 20th century as well as “The Legend of Maritime Silk Road,” a piano concerto written by British pianist and composer John Lenehan.

Upcoming performances including concerts, ballet and more will be presented in town from Nov. 28 to Dec. 3.

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil), one of Asia’s foremost classical orchestras, will perform a concert this Saturday evening under the baton of resident conductor Lio Kuokman at Shenzhen Concert Hall.
